Stirchley-on-Sea part deux, 28th January, 7-9.30pm

After the success of our first Stirchley-on-Sea event in November, we’re at it again at the end of January, taking a distinctly North Atlantic theme this time with some great Scandiwegian dishes on offer. As before it’ll be casual eat-in at the bakery, or takeaway if you prefer (but why not come and enjoy the atmosphere?!). You can bring a bottle too, we recommend Stirchley Wines and Spirits just down the road. Check out the menu below, please feel free to share widely. Thanks once again to Kerry Leslie for a top notch flyer.

New Japanese home cooking course with Lap

JapanWe’re really pleased to announce a brand new collaboration with Lap-fai Lee, the excellent tutor on our seafood, charcuterie, and knife skills courses. From Janaury 2015, Lap will be starting a series of Flavour Geography courses which will look at traditional home cooking in many parts of the world. We’re starting with Flavour Geography: Japan on Thursday 15th January from 6.30-9.30pm. In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn how to make sushi rolls, sashimi, nasu degaku, tonkatsu, and miso soup, and then sit down to a Japanese family meal at the end of the night. It’d make a great unusual Christmas present for the keen cook in your life, and why not look at the Japanese section on souschef.co.uk for something suitable to go along with it. You can book online fore the 15th January by clicking here.

Cookery courses make great Christmas presents…
